Track Details

Known as "The Steel Palace" for its unforgiving steel retaining walls, Oswego Speedway is a 5/8-mile paved oval in Oswego, New York, with a rich history dating back to 1951. It began as a 3/8-mile dirt track before being paved in 1952 and enlarged to its current size in 1961. Oswego is the undisputed home of big-block, non-winged Supermodified racing, earning it the nickname "The Indy of the East." These incredibly fast and powerful machines are the main attraction of the track's weekly racing program. The speedway's most prestigious event is the Budweiser International Classic 200, held annually on Labor Day weekend since 1957. This 200-lap race is the pinnacle of Supermodified racing, drawing top drivers from across the country to compete for one of the biggest prizes in short-track racing.
