Track Details

Located in the scenic Finger Lakes region of upstate New York, Watkins Glen International is one of North America's most historic road courses. Racing began on the village streets in 1948 before a permanent circuit was built in 1956. 'The Glen' is most famous for hosting the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix for 20 consecutive years from 1961 to 1980. The fast and flowing 3.4-mile 'Grand Prix' circuit includes the iconic 'Esses,' a high-speed uphill sequence of corners, and the 'Bus Stop' chicane on the backstretch. A staple on the NASCAR calendar since 1986, Watkins Glen is a favorite among drivers for its high speeds and challenging layout. It also hosts major sports car races, including the 6 Hours of The Glen for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
