Knockhill Racing Circuit is Scotland's national motorsport center, located in Fife. The track was created in 1974 by joining service roads on a former sheep farm. The 1.27-mile (2.04 km) circuit is famous for its dramatic elevation changes, blind crests, and challenging corners, with a layout that runs up and down a hillside. Uniquely, the circuit is licensed to be run in both clockwise and anti-clockwise directions, a feature often used during race weekends to present a different challenge on consecutive days. Knockhill is a premier venue for the British Touring Car Championship and the British Superbike Championship, where the tight, undulating layout always produces spectacular action for the passionate Scottish fans.
