Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway is one of the oldest continually operating racetracks in the United States, with a history of auto racing dating back to 1904. The current 0.596-mile high-banked paved oval was built in 1958 and quickly became a premier NASCAR venue. It hosted 42 Cup Series races between 1958 and 1984, with legends like Richard Petty and Darrell Waltrip finding great success there. The track is known for its steep 18-degree banking, which creates high speeds and exciting racing. After NASCAR's top series departed, the speedway remained a hub for short track racing, hosting the prestigious All American 400 late model race. Following a landmark agreement, the speedway is set to welcome the NASCAR Cup Series back in 2026, restoring a historic venue to the sport's highest level.
