Kentucky Speedway is a 1.5-mile tri-oval located in Sparta, Kentucky. After opening in 2000, the track hosted NASCAR Xfinity and Truck Series races, as well as IndyCar events, for over a decade. The facility fought for years to secure a top-level NASCAR Cup Series date, finally achieving its goal in 2011. The track was known for its bumpy, challenging surface, which gave it a unique character compared to other 1.5-mile ovals. In 2016, the track was repaved and reconfigured, with Turns 1 and 2 featuring 17 degrees of banking and Turns 3 and 4 having 14 degrees, creating a distinct challenge at both ends of the speedway. Kentucky Speedway hosted its final NASCAR race weekend in 2020 and is currently inactive for major series racing, though it remains available for rentals and driving experiences.
