The Chili Bowl Nationals is not a permanent speedway but an iconic indoor midget car racing event held annually inside the SageNet Center at the Tulsa Expo Square in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Since its inception in 1987, it has grown into the Super Bowl of midget racing, attracting hundreds of competitors from all disciplines of motorsport, including NASCAR, IndyCar, and World of Outlaws stars. The event was founded by Lanny Edwards and Emmett Hahn and was named after the original sponsor, the Chili Bowl Company. A temporary 1/5-mile clay oval is constructed inside the arena for the week-long event each January. Winning the coveted Golden Driller trophy is one of the most prestigious accomplishments in grassroots motorsports. The intense, close-quarters racing and the sheer volume of entries make it one of the most exciting and unique events in the world.
