Opened in 1970, Tsukuba Circuit is a popular and iconic racetrack located near Tokyo, Japan. While relatively short, the 2.045 km (1.271-mile) "Course 2000" is a highly technical layout with a wide variety of corners, from hairpins to medium-speed sweepers. Its proximity to Tokyo has made it the epicenter of Japan's car tuning culture and the spiritual home of "Time Attack" competitions, where highly modified street cars compete for the fastest single lap time. The circuit has been immortalized in video games like Gran Turismo, making it one of the most recognized Japanese tracks globally. In addition to time attack events, Tsukuba hosts rounds of the All Japan Road Race Championship for motorcycles and various club racing events.
