Track Details

Known as 'America's Premier Short Track,' Richmond Raceway is a 0.75-mile, D-shaped paved oval in Richmond, Virginia. Its history began in 1946 as a half-mile dirt track at the Richmond Fairgrounds. The track was paved in 1968 and reconfigured to its current 3/4-mile length in 1988. Richmond is unique for its combination of short-track intensity and intermediate-speedway characteristics, with its 14-degree banking in the turns allowing for high corner speeds and multiple racing grooves. It has hosted over 100 NASCAR Cup Series races and is a favorite among drivers and fans for its action-packed night races. A major infield redevelopment in 2018 created a modern, fan-friendly garage viewing experience.
