Track Details

Myrtle Beach Speedway was a historic 0.538-mile semi-banked paved oval in South Carolina that operated from 1958 to 2020. It opened as a dirt track named Rambi Raceway and was paved in 1974. For decades, it was a vital part of the East Coast short track scene and a training ground for countless NASCAR legends, including Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon, and multiple generations of the Petty and Earnhardt families. The track hosted the NASCAR Busch (now Xfinity) Series from 1988 to 2000 and was home to prestigious Late Model races like the Myrtle Beach 400. Despite its rich history and popularity, the speedway was sold to a developer and held its final race in August 2020 before being demolished, marking a significant loss for the grassroots racing community.
