Track Details

Opened in 1960 as Indianapolis Raceway Park (IRP), this multi-purpose facility is located just a few miles from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The complex features a world-renowned 1/4-mile drag strip, a 0.686-mile paved oval, and a now-retired 2.5-mile road course. The drag strip has been the permanent home of the NHRA's most prestigious event, the U.S. Nationals, since 1961. The oval, known for its 12-degree banking, was a longtime host of NASCAR Xfinity and Truck Series races and remains a key venue for USAC open-wheel events like the Carb Night Classic. The road course holds historical significance as the site of Mario Andretti's first Indy car victory in 1965.
