Track Details

Kansas Speedway is a 1.5-mile tri-oval located in Kansas City, Kansas, which opened in 2001 to bring top-level motorsports to the Midwest. The track features progressive banking that varies from 17 to 20 degrees in the turns, a design that encourages multi-groove racing and allows drivers to search for the fastest line as the race progresses. In 2012, the track was repaved and the banking was reconfigured to its current progressive layout. Kansas Speedway hosts two NASCAR race weekends each year, with its fall race being a crucial event in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs. In 2024, the track was the site of the closest finish in NASCAR Cup Series history, with Kyle Larson winning by a margin of 0.001 seconds.
