Track Details

New Smyrna Speedway is a high-banked, half-mile paved oval in Florida, located just 12 miles from Daytona International Speedway. Opened as a dirt track in 1967, it was paved just six months later. The track is most famous for hosting the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing, a grueling nine-night racing extravaganza held every February during NASCAR's Speedweeks at Daytona. This event attracts a massive field of drivers from across North America competing in various divisions, and winning a World Series championship is a major accomplishment in short track racing. The track is a NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series sanctioned facility and has been a training ground for countless racing legends over its more than 50-year history.
