Dover Motor Speedway

Nicknamed "The Monster Mile," Dover Motor Speedway is a unique and punishing 1-mile concrete oval located in Dover, Delaware. Opened in 1969 as Dover Downs International Speedway, the track is known for its incredibly high banking of 24 degrees in the turns, which creates immense g-forces and slingshots cars down the straightaways at tremendous speeds. The concrete surface is notoriously abrasive on tires and unforgiving of mistakes, often leading to dramatic, high-stakes racing.
