Concord Speedway, located in Midland, North Carolina, was a celebrated short track that operated from 1982 until its closure in 2019. The facility featured a unique half-mile asphalt tri-oval with three distinct turns, each with different banking, making it a particularly challenging layout for drivers and setup engineers. It also had a quarter-mile oval in the infield that hosted INEX Legends and Bandoleros races. The track was a staple of the southeastern short track scene, hosting prestigious events like the 'Big 10 Series' for Super Late Models and the 'North-South Shootout' for Tour-type Modifieds. Many famous drivers, including Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr., raced at Concord during its heyday. The track was sold in 2019 and has since been redeveloped, marking the loss of another historic grassroots racing venue.
